About this event
South Charleston is located in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeastern and Appalachian regions of the United States. The Charleston Harbor and tidal Wando River flow on the east side of Mount Pleasant, and the harbor is bordered to the south of Sullivan Island, where locals eat, boat and swim. The Charleston campground is conveniently located next to Isle of Palms, Shem Creek, Daniel Island, Patriot's Point and more. These places provide peaceful scenic landscapes with aquatic activities and plenty of bird wildlife. Learn about Charleston's combat submarine museum at Hunley, or see a 1,500-year-old tree called Angel Oak. There are many historical things to do, like visit the movie set for "Gone With the Wind" only 5 miles away from your campsite.
